Forex trading is not something I would ever recommend to anybody. It is a painful journey where the markets will erase any sense of "right" you think you know. Today I passed Phase 1 of the FTMO Challenge for a $100k Account. I am now on to Step 2 - Verification Phase. I'm sharing this success knowing fully well I can fail the Verification Phase because I can't control the markets - but, maybe knowing this is what got me to pass this Challenge in the first place...The system I trade is hardly sensible because so are the price charts. Perfect looking textbook setup on the chart?: Makes no difference to me - I've seen the best setups turn to failures and the worst setups turn to bangers. However, there are some truths that I have discovered that work for me over the years of Forex trading...1) Risk % not Pips2) It's okay to have emotions, but it's not okay to stray from your plan3) Trade like the worst will happenWhile passing this First Phase is great and all, I can't help but think back to an epic moment where Kobe Bryant just won Game 2 of the 2009 NBA Finals. The reporters noticed Post-Game that Kobe was still stern-faced as ever.Reporter: "You're up 2-0. What's the story? Are you not happy?"Kobe: "What's there to be happy about? The job's not finished."
