1. I found this recipe a while ago and have been making it for years now. My family and I used to enjoy going to Duff's just for the bread pudding! Simple and easy to make yet absolutely delicious! I am required to bring this to every family gathering now! The only thing I changed was the nutmeg, I only use a dash.

 2. We don't have coffee creamer here in Australia but was given some in a swap so decided to use it for this. I did a half batch & used Blueberry cobbler creamer with frozen blueberries in place of raisins, left out the marg and didn't bother with the sauce as I felt it was tasty enough on it's own. Great recipe, love the use of the creamer in this but if using flavoured creamer like me it could probably be cut down a tad as it was quite sweet. Thanks for posting!

 3. Found this online then came here and found it on Zaar. I made the one online which is exactly 1/2 of everything you have posted. I used 3 italian hoagie rolls that I pulled out of the freezer. I also mixed it all up in a bowl letting the bread get soaked up with the egg mixture instead of layering. Flipped it over 1/2 way through baking as the top was getting a little hard and it came out perfect! The sauce was super rich and my family enjoyed every bite. Will make again for the Christmas holidays...it was THAT GOOD!! Thanks Mysterygirl for posting this copycat here.

 4. Wonderful and absolutely the best bread pudding I have ever had! The nutmeg sauce was just right with the pudding. I prepared 1/2 of the recipe as it is just DH and myself. As you may notice in the photo, the pudding is not very thick. This was due to the dish I used was a little large for 1/2 of a recipe. However, it was delicious! I will make this again! Prepared for Zaar tag! Thanks Mysterygirl!

I am one of the early members of Zaar joining in October 2001. It was instantly my favorite site even though there were only about 5000 recipes. Back then the original owners Troy and Gay ran the site and they had a lot of interaction with the members. I miss them.

Through the years it still remains to this day my favorite go to site and the one that I send all of my friends and family to when they need anything.
8724616"

Bread pudding's magic is how the old, dried bread can be re-invigorated with a mixture of milk, eggs, and sugar that it soaks up like a sponge, but when the eggs aren't properly beaten you have a separation of the beaten yolk from the beaten whites which gives you the scrambled egg look and flavor.

Is bread pudding supposed to be soggy? ›
